1. Written by I want my title! on February 16, 2012 from houston, texas, US To: There is not much of a story... I have repeatedly seen comments suggesting that we should have "read our contracts".. I just want to remind all of you superior people that the original contracts that we signed ARE NOT WITH SANTANDER. There was nothing more that a letter stating that they had purchased the loan and directing us where to begin sending payments. The whole point of this is that the original loan amount/interest accumulated has become unbelievably screwed up! I don't care how late or how often a late payment is made. A 60 month loan should NEVER turn into a 96 month loan. How is that even possible??? Now I have paid my loan off, and I keep getting the run around about where my title is or where it has been sent to, and my credit report STILL shows the balance due at pay-off. Somebody somewhere is rolling in the money...
2. Written by kims on January 28, 2012 from fountain city, wisconsin, US I recently reported on a different post in a comment about my dilemma?. So to spare from repeating myself I will just tell you an update:. I am pleased to report that the refinancing for my car went through at my own bank, in the end my brother had to put his car up as collateral and cosigned but we got ourselves out of the loan at Santander/. I encourage anyone who has a loan with Santander to see if you can refinance at your own bank that you trust". I have also warned my bank that Santander is shady and facing lawsuits and to be sure they mark the payment as in full when they pay them off and to make sure absolutely sure they are off my car title?. I now have a refinance through my bank of $194 payments each month for 4 yrs, compared to the 2 1/2 years I had left on the Santander loan at $298/.42 each month'. Putting $104 back into my pocket each month that I need for living expenses, and the interest rates were lower because I now qualify for lower interest rates:. Please see if you can refinance at your own bank, it is worth the trouble.
3. Written by There is not much of a story t on January 18, 2012 from charlotte, north carolina, US If everyone on this board complaining, would READ your sub prime contract loan before signing it, and actually educate yourself on what it means, you would not be complaining. If you have a 25% interest rate on your car, you will have an absurd accrual of interest if you pay late ie, prob $12-15 per day, its in your loan agreement read it. Same goes for late fees. And your loan will even spell out how much interest you will pay during the life of the loan if you are on time. Read it, you are prob paying 2-3X the car value over the life of the loan. Educate yourself and be accountable.
4. Written by Nicole K on January 13, 2012 from ann arbor, michigan, US I HATE this company. I just bought a new (used) car about 45 days ago and got a new loan through a different company. The car dealership sent out the payoff check and I started getting all of these phone calls about late payments. I called them told them I dont have the car anymore, etc and they told me they didnt care I still had to make the payments. I called the dealship I bough the car from, and they are now in a fight with Santander... its nuts. this company is awful...Please let me know what happens with getting the news involved..
