1. Written by kims on January 30, 2012 from fountain city, wisconsin, US I recently reported on a different post in a comment about my dilemma?. So to spare from repeating myself I will just tell you an update;. I am pleased to report that the refinancing for my car went through at my own bank, in the end my brother had to put his car up as collateral and cosigned but we got ourselves out of the loan at Santander;. I encourage anyone who has a loan with Santander to see if you can refinance at your own bank that you trust?. I have also warned my bank that Santander is shady and facing lawsuits and to be sure they mark the payment as in full when they pay them off and to make sure absolutely sure they are off my car title". I now have a refinance through my bank of $194 payments each month for 4 yrs, compared to the 2 1/2 years I had left on the Santander loan at $298?.42 each month:. Putting $104 back into my pocket each month that I need for living expenses, and the interest rates were lower because I now qualify for lower interest rates:. Please see if you can refinance at your own bank, it is worth the trouble.
2. Written by They are shady on December 5, 2011 from jacksonville, florida, US In October I called them knowing I had fallen 2 months behind. Somehow I missed a partial payment and the woman I talked to told me to pay a full payment today and the partial payment by the end of the month. I did just that. I called the other day and they told me the first woman wasn't correct and I was going on 4 months behind, how I don't know, but that my car was in repossession. I asked why I didn't get a letter of this, they told me it was against the law to send me a notice if I am more than 30 days behind. So I am clearly upset, this is my only car, I would never let it get that far behind. I borrowed the money from a relative. Called to verify the repossession was taken off, first guy argued with me for 15 minutes. He told me I had to pay 3 more payments by January. So I called back to talk to someone else who told me that guy was very wrong. It took me 3 times to finally get someone to confirm and send me an email that all was paid.
3. Written by QueenMother on October 21, 2011 from shelby, north carolina, US Citifinancial Auto transferred my car loan to Santunder last year in October without my knowledge. However, when I found out I still sent them payments through December. Although the maturity date had passed they didn't contact me. One day in January I looked outside and my car was gone. Later I was told my car sold for $398, and they were trying to still make me pay a balance of $98. Not happening. Never heard of this company and they certainly do not need to be in business. I've read numerous complaints about their unethical practices. These people are nothing but shisters. ![]()

I have been dealing with problem since 9/28/2011 and loan was paid in full 1/2011. Never again will I do business with company. Have called for five times to resolve and my bank has called twice and if not resolved within the next 72 hours per customer representative will be securing legal advice from my bank. |
5. Written by Jay on October 6, 2011 from camden, new jersey, US So long story short, this company is full of ****. They refi-ed our loan about 3 yrs ago and when we called to see how much more we owed on the loan, they claimed that we owed almost the exact loan amount that they had taken over when they refi-ed!! i dont know about you, but I smell bull ****. When we spoke to them, they claimed we had paid the interest down and now we are paying on the principle, so that's why the remaining balance looks the way it is. Last time I checked...when you pay for a car loan, your monthly payments are going toward the interest and the principle. I'm thinking legal actions will have to be taken if they don't have a good explanation.

9. Written by Harrassed on August 23, 2011 from kenner, louisiana, US Hi, I keep getting collection calls from these people for a person who does not & never has lived at my address. My phone isn't even in this persons name. I have told these people 4 times now and am about to file an official complaint with the office of financial institutions. By the way, collectors have laws dictating how they can and cannot collect, so, just keep reporting them for unethical behavior and sooner or later they will lose their license.
10. Written by First and final loan on August 10, 2011 from catonsville, maryland, US Ok, first my concession, we missed a payment and thy had been unable to reach us by phone. They grabbed the car in the middle of the night and I'm not sure I blame them for that. But then the *** begins. I talked to a rep and was given 10 days to bring the loan current. I went to work getting the money together. I talked to a rep every work day for for days leering them know what progress was made and verifying the amount due to bring get the vehicle back. everything was fine until the day I had the money. Payment made, got the receipt, they will release the cat.. Just one catch, despite talking to me every day they couldn't be sure I was interested in getting the car back so the auction company has already been cleared to haul in away. Mind you, I was promised 10 days to fix it and this was only day 4, including a weekend so now, providing they don't mess up the release paperwork, I have to borrow a cat and travel 200 miles to go get it. They took the car because they couldn't reach me, they hauled it 100 miles away when I call every day. Exactly what are they expecting here?
